Black Shirt Day

Black Shirt Day

Commemorating the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. "Black Shirt Day"is both a day of education and remembrance, and an invitation to a necessary conversation about racial injustice.

After a Phenomenal 2021, 2022, 2023 & 2024 ARC is on to another successful campaign. January 15th,
17th, 18th, 19th (weekend events) of 2025.

We are aiming to expand the reach and exceed the 130,000+ participants from 2024!

On January 15th, 2021, thousands of students, educators, and citizens across British Columbia
and Canada wore black shirts in recognition of the struggle for civil rights fought by Black,
Indigenous and Peoples of Colour in Canada.

We are especially proud of the official endorsement of Black Shirt Day 2022 by Independent Jewish Voices Canada: "a grassroots organization grounded in Jewish tradition that opposes all forms of racism and advocates for justice and peace for all in Israel-Palestine." We at ARC strongly affirm our support for anti-racism in all its forms, including the fight for justice and human rights for all human beings in Israel-Palestine.
